About the Weekend

 

LLANWDDYN WEEKEND OF FOLK & ACOUSTIC MUSIC

 2nd/3rd/4th  September 2022 

the venue is Llanwddyn Community Centre, Abertridwr, Llanwddyn, Lake Vyrnw, Powys/Shropshire borders, SY10 0LR

Hi there!

We hope you’re all doing okay and after such strange times, staying as healthily and safe as possible. 

It's great to be able to confirm that the 2022 festival will be going ahead, re confirm the date of the 2nd - 4th  September 2022. 

We have a great line up and are sure that there is something for everyone in there.  

A slight change to original arrangemnts, is that the camping will be split to two fields. One for tents and camper vans and the other for motorhomes and caravans. On arrival please follow the signs for your particular set up. Campsites are very basic with onlny portable toilets in one field and the public toilets by the other.  Bottled water available for the weekend donated by Severn Trent water. (see our campng page for more info)

We have put an order in for sunshine and hope it gets delivered on time. 

In brief : 

Ticket desk open from 3pm on Friday and from 10:00 am Saturday.

Friday night from 6 the bar will be open. Twmpathology begin around 7:45pm for dancing and supper will be served approx 8:45pm.  Therafter dancing will continue once you've all had your fill and hopefully for those who dont dance, there will be a sing around session in the bar area. 

Saturday morning the bar opens from 11am and pop up cafe and BBQ from 10am.
The craft fair begins at the same time and will run throughout the day.

First sing-around in the bar starts from 11am too and goes on through to 12pm. 
The first set of concerts begin at 1pm thorugh to 4pm.

There is a break form concerts for everyone to go off and enjoy the singaround, have a snooze, browse the craft fair, go for a walk, have some food and recharge a little. Again the sing around will start straight after the concert and continue until 6pm ready for the next set of conerts from 7pm. if therer is no room in the bar to play, you can always start a session off outside if its lovely weather or in the canteen. 

The bar will remain open during the concert and for a short while after the final concert which will finish approximately 11pm. 

Sunday morning, there will be Folk Mass at St Wddyns, held especially for the folk festival.  Please join us if you can. there is limited parking available there, but if you can car share, or even better, walk there, you would be most welcome.  Its about a mile and a half.
